Position Summary: Perform special education services in accordance with the policies and procedures of the assigned school district. Duties may include but are not limited to case management; mentoring, developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans in accordance with federal, state, and local guidelines; supervision, evaluation and scheduling of paraeducators; participation in problem-solving teams; developing and implementing behavior intervention plans; scheduling and facilitating IEP meetings.
Individuals hired as Special Education Teachers may be aligned to similar roles such as Process Coordinator, Academic Evaluator, Case Manager, or Teacher of Record, as required by the needs of the client and Quantum. These roles have the same minimum requirements and fall under the Special Education division. Additionally, these roles have similar responsibilities and expectations. As with all Quantum positions, the determination of in-person, hybrid, or virtual is dependent on client and company needs.
Supervised Employees:
To be determined by district – may include paraeducators, new teachers, or others.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.
Holds or is eligible for a teaching license, with an endorsement in the appropriate subject area.
Demonstrates knowledge of subject content, specialized curriculum, and individualized methodologies for effective teaching tailored to diverse learning needs.
Skilled in the use of multi-media and assistive technology to enhance learning for students with diverse needs.
Able to establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships with students, colleagues, administrators, and parents.
Demonstrates skill in oral and written communications and excellent human relations skills.

• Prepare a wide variety of written materials (e.g. progress reports, individualized education plans and related documents such as notice of meeting, prior written notice, etc.)
• Communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally in all written and oral language
• Development, implement, and oversee implementation of individualized education programs to ensure that a student is receiving a free, appropriate, public education.
• Communicate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure timely and quality services.
• Complete comprehensive documentation of all services as required by the contract district’s policies and procedures.
• Document and complete all billing requirements for such services as required by the contract district’s policies and procedures.
• Apply current research and theory to inform programming and decision-making.
• Provide direction and supervision of district personnel (such as paraprofessionals or new teachers) in the provision of services under the rules and regulations of any State or Federal guidelines, in addition to Quantum’s policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
