$35.00 – $40.00
Position Summary:
Support special education services in accordance with the policies and procedures of the assigned school district. Duties may include but are not limited to: assisting in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in accordance with federal, state, and local guidelines; providing direct support to students with special needs; collaborating with special education teachers and other staff; assisting in the development and implementation of behavior intervention plans; supporting the scheduling and facilitation of IEP meetings; monitoring and documenting student progress; and participating in problem-solving teams.
Minimum Qualification:
– Associate’s degree preferred
– Passing score on state recognized paraprofessional assessment
– Experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
– Knowledge of special education practices and willingness to learn and apply new strategies.
– Proficient in the use of multi-media and computer technology to support learning.
– Ability to establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships with students, colleagues, administrators, and parents.
– Strong oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.

– Supports colleagues, students, parents, and community stakeholders to promote student learning and mastery of content.
– Participates in the school’s professional learning community to deepen understanding of curriculum and assessment.
– Communicates clearly and professionally in all written and oral language.
– Performs other duties as assigned.
